AIR Japan


Japanese artist-in-residence programs.

Alliance of Artists' Communities


A national member-based organization that links artists to information on communities and residency programs. The site has links to a list of art colonies and artist-in-residence programs, searchable by location or medium.

Anderson Ranch Arts Center


Offers summer workshops in ceramics, sculpture, photography, new media, painting and drawing, woodworking, furniture design, and residency programs. Located near Aspen, Colorado.

New England Foundation for the Arts


Awards arts grants and hosts residencies. Funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and regional state arts funding.

Artists in Residence in Everglades (AIRIE)


Open to writers and visual artists who are willing to create works that will contribute to the public understanding and appreciation of Everglades National Park during their stay. A donationt to the park is asked. Residencies are up to one month in either a furnished apartment or a campsite.

Swiss network of artists' "residences," meaning that members engage in studio exchanges between each other. It is basically a collection of addresses and guest studios and studios of exchange for Swiss and foreign artists in Switzerland.

Prestegious residencies in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire for composers, filmmakers, visual artists, writers, and architects. Touts a long list of famous previous residents such as James Baldwin and Willa Cather.
